Getting a nationwide retail network to the cloud before disaster strikes

With more than 130 salons nationwide, Darque Tan was enjoying solid growth. They had just introduced two new service concepts. They were also flirting with disaster. Darque Tan’s server hub was physically located in hurricane-prone Houston, Texas, threatening the very existence of their nation-wide operation. That’s why they turned to Techcess Group for help. Darque Tan assumed that all they needed was someone to replace some “end of life” hardware. What they got instead was an IT solutions partner that helped them quickly and securely place their operations hub in the cloud while leveraging their sunk costs in existing, viable hardware.

Because Darque Tan had a central hub that supported the operations of all 130+ salons, Techcess Group’s IT strategy required the re-location of Darque Tan’s servers to Techcess Group’s off-site data center, as well as the development of their dedicated cloud. And due to the nature of Darque Tan’s business, the installation and migration had to be completed over the short Christmas break.

Results

Techcess Group was able to execute the IT strategy within the condensed timeframe, including a hybrid transition that required the physical relocation of Darque Tan’s infrastructure. Since the migration to their own cloud, Darque Tan has never experienced any downtime (which could potentially cost Darque Tan hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue every day). Techcess Group currently provides co-location, cloud computing and 24/7 help desk for their nationwide network of salons.

Finally, Darque Tan leveraged its confidence in Techcess Group by contracting us to devise an IT strategy for the launch of their new venture, Epique Massage.

With our data now safe, secured, and with reliable availability - our infrastructure is strengthened even more by the quality support of the Techcess Group. They made our (cloud) transition into Cyrus One smooth - and have totally relieved us of having to manage our most important systems - the servers. The Hosted Virtualization they provide helps us avoid having to purchase server equipment while providing backups and multiple fail safes to help make sure our systems are always up and running efficiently. And now that our server infrastructure and data accessibility are no longer concerns, our management can focus on new ventures.
